3 Events to bet on at Housebets this weekend

Bet on the Premier League, LaLiga, Serie A, Bundesliga, Ligue 1, Shanghai Masters and UFC 307 at Housebets.com.

It is our favourite time of the week again, where we get to watch our favourite teams, players and athletes.

This weekend promises to deliver as there is a lot of sporting action lined up. Unlike last week, there is a variety of sporting activities to watch this weekend.

As usual, domestic football across Europe’s top leagues will take centre stage, with action kicking off on Friday despite the UEFA Champions League and Europa League matches during the week.

But aside from football, there is also a big fight this weekend. Meanwhile, tennis action continues in Shanghai for the penultimate Masters 1000s of the year.

There is also the little matter of the NFL on Sunday and the WNBA playoffs, even though Caitlin Clark’s Indiana Fever are out.

Without further ado, Housebets takes a look at some of the top sporting events for this weekend.

Premier League, LaLiga and Serie A

There is no heavyweight clash in any of Europe’s top leagues this weekend,  but there are a lot of exciting matches to watch and bet on.

In the Premier League, Liverpool will hope to continue their brilliant start under Arne Slot when they travel to the capital to take on Crystal Palace in Saturday’s early kick-off.

So far, Arne Slot has won eight of his first nine games in charge at Liverpool, with his only blemish being a 1-0 home defeat to Nottingham Forest.

Slot will hope to make it nine wins out of ten when his Reds take on the Eagles at Selhurst Park on Saturday.

Liverpool come into the match on the back of a 2-0 win over Bologna in the Champions League and will be aiming for a repeat performance on Saturday.

The Reds know that a win extend their lead at the top at least until their rivals play later on Saturday.

Slot’s men are the favourite according to the odds, with Liverpool priced at 1.50 at Housebets to get the win against Palace’s 5.80.

Meanwhile, later on Saturday, Manchester City host Fulham while Arsenal take on Southampton at the Emirates.

Both sides will hope to close the gap on Liverpool or overtake the Reds with a win in their respective matches.

Then on Sunday, Man Utd will be looking to bounce back from their disastrous outing against Tottenham Hotspur when they take on Aston Villa.

The pressure is mounting heavily on Ten Hag to get a win against Unai Emery’s men as he is walking on a thin line.

However, they face a Villa side high off a win over Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League during the week.

The home side will feel confident of backing up that win and they have been picked as favourites with an odd of 2.27 against United’s 2.90.

Away from the Premier League to the Spanish top flight, where Real Madrid will be hoping to bounce back from their shocking loss to Lille in the Champions League.

It has not been a good week for Carlo Ancelotti’s men after they played a 1-1 draw against Atletico Madrid before losing to Lille.

However, they have the chance to regroup when they welcome Villarreal to Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday.

With the El-Clasico looming, Madrid cannot afford to lose more ground on Barcelona, who are currently three points ahead.

They should have no trouble seeing off the Yellow Submarines, who are the underdogs in this clash,

Villarreal are priced at 9.40 to cause an upset while you can back Madrid at 1.24, courtesy of odds at Housebets.

While Madrid had a disappointing outing in the Champions League, Barcelona had no such trouble as they comfortably beat Young Boys.

However, the Catalan giants know they cannot afford to drop points in the league after suffering their first defeat of the season against Osasuna last Saturday.

Hansi Flick’s men travel to Deportivo Alaves on Sunday and will aim to preserve their lead at the top.

Barca have been given an odd of 1.56 to get the job done, while Alaves are priced at 5.40 to win the game.

In Serie A, there is no stand-out game, but Antonio Conte’s Napoli will hope to maintain their lead at the top when they welcome Como.

However, the likes of Juventus, Inter Milan and AC Milan will also be looking for wins as they aim to keep pace with the Neapolitans.

Shanghai Masters

Club football is not the only big sporting event happening this weekend. The penultimate Masters 1000s on the ATP tour, the Shanghai Masters, is also underway.

Both Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, who played a thrilling final in the China Open, are expected to start their campaign on Saturday.

Alcaraz and Sinner are the favourites, priced at 3.05 and 4.40, respectively. However, don’t count out Novak Djokovic, who returns to the ATP tour for the first time since the US Open.

Djokovic is priced at 4.85 making him the third favourite for the trophy. Alexander Zverev is the fourth favourite, but he is priced at a massive 9.25 to go all the way.

UFC 307: Alex Pereira vs Khalil Rountree

In the fighting game, where UFC 307 will grab the headlines this weekend as Alex Pereira puts his Light Heavyweight title on the line again.

For the third time this year, Pereira will make a title defence when he fights Khalil Rountree in Salt Lake City on Saturday.

The Brazilian last fought in June when he beat Jiri Prochazka via a knockout in the second round to retain his title.

It was the second time Pereira beat Prochazka, having beaten him last November to claim the light heavyweight title.

Since he first claimed the title, Pereira has made two successful defences, against Jamahal Hill and Prochazka.

Although Pereira is 11-2 in the UFC, he has been unstoppable since he moved up weight to the light heavyweight division.

But this time, he faces a Rountree, who is on a five-fight winning streak with four ending before the fifth round.

Rountree has gotten better in each of his last fights and will aim to cause an upset on Saturday night.

But despite his impressive performance recently, he is the massive underdog in this one. The 34-year-old is priced at 4.60 against Pereira’s 1.20, as per odds at Housebets.
