The Champions League final takes place this weekend, and you can bet on the game at Housebets.com

It does not get bigger than this weekend’s game as Paris Saint-Germain takes on Inter Milan in the final of this season’s Champions League.

Neither was one of the top five teams predicted to get to the stage, but they have managed to upset the odds.

For PSG, it is a chance to make history, while Inter are looking to banish the disappointment of two years ago by adding a third star to their crest.

You can bet on the action as it unfolds at Housebets. PSG are seen as the favourites for this one, while Inter are the underdogs. However, any outcome on Saturday night will not be a surprise.

PSG vs Inter Milan preview

It is funny how things change quickly in football because going into the last game of the league stage, PSG’s Champions League hopes were in the balance.

The Parisens needed to win their last game against Stuttgart to book a place in the playoff round, having played with relegation in their previous seven games in the league stage.

That was exactly what Luis Enrique’s men did, and since then, they have been on a roll. The French champions are now on the verge of history as they could win their first Champions League and also become the first French club to win the treble.

They won the Ligue 1 title weeks ago and added the French Cup last week, but the Champions League is the crème de la crème. It has always been their dream since the Qatari era started in 2011.

PSG was in this position in 2020, but they lost to Bayern Munich in the final. However, the difference between this time and 2020 is that they are the favourites against Inter.

In fairness, they are here because of how they have performed since the turn of the year. Enrique’s men dispatched Brest easily in the playoff round 10-0 on aggregate, before seeing off Liverpool on penalties in the round of 16.

While Aston Villa gave them a game in the quarterfinal, PSG still managed to scrape through 5-4 on aggregate.

They got to the final after beating Arsenal in both legs in the semifinal. This season, the club managed to win their most games (10) and score their most goals (33) in a single major European campaign, although there are now more games in the Champions League.

Still, this is an impressive achievement, considering they were not among the top clubs purists predicted to win this year.

While Enrique should take the credit for building a solid team, the X-factor for PSG this season has been Ousmane Dembele.

The France international has eight goals and four assists in the Champions League and has taken over the mantle from Kylian Mbappe, who left to join Real Madrid on a free last summer. Dembele’s performances this season have made him a top contender for the Ballon d’Or, but he needs that Champions League win to make a strong claim.

Meanwhile, this is Inter’s second Champions League final in three years, but they will be hoping for a better performance this time, having lost to Manchester City 1-0 in the 2023 final.

Inter will feel they deserve to win this time, given the challenges they had to overcome to get to the final.

Although the Nerazzurri did not play the playoffs after finishing in the top eight, they still had to beat Bayern Munich and Barcelona to get to this stage.

Inter beat Bayern 4-3 on aggregate before knocking out Barcelona 7-6 on aggregate in a semifinal tie that people will talk about for years.

While the semifinal may want to paint Inter as a fragile team defensively, it is not true because Inter’s defence is the reason why they are here.

The Italian giants have more clean sheets than any other club in the Champions League this season and have conceded just 11 goals, with six of them coming in that semifinal tie against Barcelona.

Part of the reason for Inter’s strong defence is because of Yan Sommer, who single-handedly won the semifinal tie against Barcelona. The Swiss goalkeeper has prevented more goals than any other goalkeeper in the Champions League this season.

However, it’s not just Inter’s defence PSG need to worry about. The Nerazzurri also have a potent attack, having scored 26 goals in the competition. They have scored two or more goals in every knockout game.

In fairness, these teams are evenly matched. One area to keep an eye on is the midfield battle, although Inter will also be happy to let PSG have more of the ball.

PSG vs Inter Milan team news

There will be no injury excuse as both teams have a full-strength squad going into the final. The French Champions can count on Dembele, who came on as a substitute in the win over Reims last weekend.

Meanwhile, Lautaro Martinez is also fit for Inter, while Benjamin Pavard and Piotr Zielinski have also joined group training.

PSG vs Inter Milan Betting Preview

This is a difficult match to call, but PSG are the betting favourites, with the French open priced at 2.24 at Housebets for the win. Meanwhile, you can back Inter are 3.45.

As for who will win the trophy, PSG are also the favourite at 1.66 against Inter’s 2.34. Over 2.5 goals is 1.99.

History does favour PSG, though, as the last four times Munich hosted a Champions League final, a new champion emerged. Also, the last and only time a French side took on an Italian side in the Champions League final, the French Champion prevailed, which coincidentally was in Munich in 1993 (Olympique Marseille 1-0 AC Milan).
