We are now at the business end of the UEFA Champions League as the Champions League semi-final stage takes centre stage.

Thirty-six teams started the league stage, but we are now down to the last four. The two semifinal clashes promise to be a classic affair.

The first semifinal clash will see Arsenal take on PSG, while the other one features Barcelona against Inter Milan.

We take a look at both games as we get set for the first leg.

Arsenal vs PSG

Both Arsenal and PSG know that they might not get a better chance to play in the Champions League final anytime soon. Unfortunately, only one of these two teams will get to play in this year’s showpiece in Munich as they face each other in the semifinal.

Arsenal know that the Champions League represent their only chance of winning a title this season, with Liverpool sealing the Premier League title last Sunday.

While Mikel Arteta’s men may not be the outright favourites, they will fancy their chances against PSG and one of Barca or Inter Milan in the final.

The Gunners already made a statement in the quarterfinals as they beat the defending champions Real Madrid across two legs.

Arsenal tore Carlo Ancelotti’s men apart at the Emirates before they secured another win at the Bernabeu. That win has instilled more confidence going into their clash against PSG.

Also, the Gunners already beat the French champions this season after securing a 2-0 win at the Emirates in the league phase last October.

As for PSG, Luis Enrique’s men come into the game feeling fresh, even though Nice ended their chance of winning the league as unbeaten champions.

The Parisens had already won the league weeks ago but were looking to preserve their unbeaten run when they took on the Eagles last weekend.

However, Nice ensured that Enrique’s men would not win the league as unbeaten champions following a 2-1 win.

Despite the loss, PSG are likely to arrive at the game feeling fresh, as the league had already been won since January, even though they only mathematically secured it two weeks ago.

Enrique’s men knocked out Aston Villa in the quarter-final, having beaten Liverpool in the round of 16. However, they rode their luck in both games as Villa almost came back from a 3-1 first-leg deficit, while they also scraped past Liverpool on penalties.

They will need to put up an improved performance against the Gunners if they are to progress to the final. However, the signs are not looking good for PSG as they are winless in five matches against Arsenal and have lost five of their past six away games against English sides in the Champions League.

The good news for them, though, is that they have a fully fit squad for the clash. Meanwhile, Arsenal will be without Thomas Partey for the clash after the Ghanaian picked up a yellow card in the second leg of their clash against Real Madrid.

The Gunners will also be without Riccardo Calafiori (knee) while Gabriel (hamstring), Kai Havertz (hamstring), Takehiro Tomiyasu (knee), Gabriel Jesus (ACL) and Jorginho (chest) for the game.

Despite the injuries, Arsenal are priced at 2.16 to get the win, while you can back PSG at 3.40 at Housebets.

Barcelona vs Inter Milan

The second of the semifinal games will see Barcelona take on Inter Milan in a repeat of their 2010 clash. On that occasion, Jose Mourinho won the tie 3-2 on aggregate before going on to win the treble.

This time, it is Barcelona chasing the treble. The Catalan giants have already achieved one part of their goal after beating Real Madrid 3-2 in the Copa del Rey final.

A thrilling clash was settled by Jule Kounde’s winner in the second half of extra time. That win pushed Barcelona towards their third treble in the club’s history.

It will also give them full confidence going into the game against Inter Milan. Barca are the clear favourites for this game, and rightly so.

Hansi Flick’s men have been the best team in the world this year, with their performance against Real Madrid reinforcing that.

They reached this stage after beating Borussia Dortmund in the quarterfinal. Barca had already wrapped up the tie in the first leg after winning 4-0. Although Dortmund tried to salvage some pride, the damage was already done.

While you could excuse Barca for taking their foot off the gas against Dortmund, they cannot afford to do the same against Inter.

Inter’s recent form may not be impressive right now, but they look like the team that can stop Barca. The Nerazzurri have a solid defence and are brilliant in transition, which can hurt Barca’s high line.

However, Inter will need to get over their recent slump and put up an impressive effort against the LaLiga leaders.

Simone Inzaghi’s men are in danger of missing out on a trophy, having been chasing a treble all season.

In the space of a week, Inter crashed out of the Coppa Italia and fell three points behind Napoli in the title race after losing to AS Roma last weekend.

The defending Serie A champions right now may end up trophyless unless they put up a monster performance against Barca.

Inzaghi’s men are the underdogs in this one, priced at 5.60, while Barca are given an odd of 1.60 to get a home win.
