The UEFA Champions League is back this week with some highly anticipated matches on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Tuesday will see Real Madrid play for the first time since Vinicius Jr. lost the Ballon d’Or. They will take on seven-time champions AC Milan at Santiago Bernabeu.

On that same night, Xabi Alonso will make a return to Anfield as his Bayer Leverkusen side take on Liverpool.

Meanwhile, in Lisbon, Ruben Amorim will get a taste of what to expect in the Premier League when his Sporting Lisbon host Manchester City.

Then on Wednesday, Arsenal take on Inter Milan at San Siro, which is our focus game in this article.

Inter Milan vs Arsenal Preview

Two of the best teams in Europe in the last few years go up against each other as Inter Milan take on Arsenal at San Siro on Wednesday night.

Both teams are among the favourites to win this year’s competition and will be eager to get one over each other, even though it’s just the league stage.

For Arsenal, they will be looking to bounce back after a tough three weeks in the English top flight.

The Gunners have failed to pick up points in their last three league matches, falling seven points behind Liverpool in the title race.

Arteta’s men come into the clash against Inter on the back of a 1-0 defeat to Newcastle in the Premier League last weekend.

However, they will be eager to put that loss behind them by putting up an impressive performance against Inter.

The signs look good for Arsenal as they are unbeaten so far in their Champions League campaign this season, picking seven points from a possible nine.

But the Gunners know they will need to improve on their performance from last time in the Champions League if they are to get anything from the game against Inter.

They laboured to a 1-0 win over Shakhtar Donetsk in their last Champions League match, but will not have that kind of luck against Inter if they repeat that performance.

One thing that has worked so far for Arsenal this season is their defence, and that will be key against Simone Inzaghi’s men.

They have kept three clean sheets in three games, allowing just five shots on target, with only Atalanta facing fewer shots on target in this year’s competition (4).

On the flip side, however, their attack has not been the best and they face an Inter side who are also yet to concede in this year’s competition.

Inter started their campaign with an impressive draw at the Etihad against Manchester City before putting four past Red Star Belgrade.

However, like Arsenal, they laboured to a 1-0 win over Young Boys in their last Champions League match.

In fact, Inter’s run so far is similar to Arsenal’s, picking seven points from their first three matches.

They come into this clash on the back of a hard-fought 1-0 win over Venezia in Serie A last Sunday.

The win helped them close the gap on leaders, Napoli, to one point and have now won seven of their last eight matches in all competitions.

Inter Milan vs Arsenal Team News

Aside from Carlos Augusto, Inter have no major injury absentee for the match. Although Alessandro Bastoni was replaced in the match against Venezia, he should be fit for the clash against the Gunners.

As for Arsenal, Martin Odegaard returned to full training after two months out, although it remains to be seen if he will play a part on Wednesday night.

However,  Takehiro Tomiyasu (knee), Kieran Tierney (hamstring) and Riccardo Calafiori (knee) remain out.

Gabriel Magalhaes and Ben White should be fit, though, despite picking up knocks in the defeat against Newcastle.

Inter Milan vs Arsenal Betting Prediction

Honestly, this is a difficult match to call as the two teams are built on strong defenses. The odds also confirm it.

Inter are priced at 2.60 to win the match, while Arsenal are priced at 2.90 for a straight win, courtesy of odds from Housebets.com. It is hard to predict this game but under 2.5 at 1.71 could be a safe bet.
