NBA Preview: Celtics up against Knicks as Lakers take on the Wolves

The NBA is officially back tonight, with the defending champions Boston Celtics getting the season underway with a clash against the New York Knicks at TD Garden.

As for the Celtics, though, they did not make any major additions to the squad because there is no reason for them to.

The Celtics still have arguably the best squad in the league. Even without Kristaps Porzingis, who will miss the beginning of the new season, the Celtics’ depth is unmatched.

They have two of the best players in the league in Jason Tatum and Jaylen Brown, while Derrick White and Jrue Holiday can lock down any opposition’s offence on any given night.

Nonetheless, this clash between the two Eastern rivals is the best start NBA fans could have hoped for.

LA Lakers vs Minnesota Timberwolves

However, they will have to do it without Towns, who is now with the Knicks. But the good news for the Wolves is that they got DiVincenzo, who is lethal from the three-point range, and Julius Randle.

In fairness, it is hard to judge the two teams right now, but considering the Wolves have their star man, Anthony Edwards, they have the upper hand.

The Wolves are the slight favourites with an odd of 1.87 to win the game against the Lakers’ 1.97 at Housebets.
