Bet on all your favourite tennis stars at Housebets.com as the most prestigious grand slam event in the world, Wimbledon, kicks off this weekend.
Wimbledon 2025, the third Grand Slam of the year, kicks off this weekend, with all the top tennis stars set to be in action for the next two weeks.
After a historic French Open final, which saw Carlos Alcaraz come back from two sets down to beat Jannik Sinner, it is time to turn attention to the green grass of the All England Club.
Remember, you can bet on all the action as it unfolds at Housebets. The games start on Sunday, but you can also back the winner by betting on Outrights.
Wimbledon Men’s Singles Preview
Yes, it may be a strange thing to say given that Novak Djokovic is in the draw, but Alcaraz is the man to beat on the men’s side.
The Spaniard comes into this tournament on the back of that historical performance against Jannik Sinner in the French Open final.
He looked down and out after going two sets down and was 0-40 on his serve at 4-5 in the fourth set.
However, the Spaniard showed superb mental resilience by saving three match points and coming back from two sets down to beat a man who had previously not lost a set in Grand Slam tournaments this year.
The win meant Alcaraz defended his Roland Garros title successfully, and he will be looking to do the same at Wimbledon.
If anyone thought Alcaraz is still reeling from his Roland Garros title, then the person thought wrong because the world No. 2 is a man on a mission.
He successfully defended his Queen’s title last week, sending a warning to the rest of the field that he is still the man to beat.
The 22-year-old also has a favourable draw until at least the quarterfinal. Alcaraz will face Fabio Fogini in his first match, and will not face Sinner or Djokovic until the final, although he could potentially meet Alexander Zverev in the semifinal.
As expected, Alcaraz is the odds favourite, with the Spaniard priced at 2.30 at Housebets to defend his Wimbledon title for the third consecutive time.
Alcaraz will have to overcome a few challenges, though, if he wants to win his sixth Grand Slam title.
One of those challenges will likely come in the form of Sinner. After the agony of losing the final of the French Open, Sinner will be looking to win his second major of the year.
Before the French Open final, Sinner had been unstoppable in the Grand Slam. While he would have been disappointed to lose the final, Wimbledon gives him an opportunity to start another amazing run.
The issue with Sinner is that, unlike Alcaraz, it is hard to judge his level on grass, although he did reach the semifinal in 2023 and also the quarterfinal last year.
Also, his loss to Alexander Bublik in Halle does not bode well for his chances. Nonetheless, Sinner is still seen as the second favourite for the men’s singles title, with the Italian priced at 2.60 at Housebets.
The World No. 1 faces a tricky path as he could face Denis Shapovalov in the third round and Lorenzo Musetti or Ben Shelton in the quarterfinals.
Behind Sinner is Djokovic, who is surprisingly the third odds favourite at 5.50. No player in the singles draw has won more Wimbledon titles than the Serbian (7).
However, despite his pedigree in the competition, Djokovic is seen as an underdog behind Alcaraz and Sinner.
It is clear to see why, as he has been unable to challenge those two guys in Grand Slams this year.
While Sinner won the Australian Open, Alcaraz won the French Open. Djokovic, who is seeking a record-breaking 25th Grand Slam title, lost to Sinners in the semifinal of Roland Garros.
It has been an unusual season for the Serbian with just one title so far, but for a man who has seven Wimbledon titles, you cannot write him off.
While Alcaraz, Sinner and Djokovic, the likes of Bublik and Zverev, could also pose a threat to those three.
Bublik, especially, is seen as a dark horse, with the Kazakhstani priced at 25.00 at Housebets.
Wimbledon Women’s Preview
On the women’s side, Aryna Sabalenka is once again the player to beat, with the Belarusian priced at 3.50 to win the title.
In fairness, Sabalenka deserves the favourite tag because she has been the best player in the world this season.
However, despite her status as the world No. 1, Sabalenka has not won a Grand Slam this season. Not that she hasn't gotten close, but she has not just been able to get over the finishing line.
Sabalenka lost in three thrilling sets to Madison Keys in the final of the Australian Open before suffering a similar fate against Coco Gauff in the French Open final.
Wimbledon has not particularly been a happy haunting ground for Sabalenka, and considering she has 2023 champion Marketa Vondrousova in her half, she will need to be at her best.
The beauty of the women’s draw is that anyone can win it. One of the players who can also win is Elena Rybakina. Rybakina has not really been able to compete with the top players recently, but she knows a thing about winning Wimbledon, having won it in 2022.
The current world No. 11 is surprisingly priced at 5.50 to win the title ahead of Coco Gauff. Speaking of Gauff, the American world No. 2 will be looking to win her first Wimbledon title, having won the French Open.
However, she is priced at a distant 6.50 to win, which is fair, considering she lost her only match on grass this year. Remember, you can bet on all the games and your favourites at Housebets.
